Half Marathon Training Week 1 and 2

This is week one of my Half Marathon Training. I’ll be taking you on my training over the next several months leading up to the race and the race it self.

Goals that I want to achieve: 1. To finish 2. Finish under 3.5 hours.

First run of the week and started out with cold nippy temp, I love the cold and made sure I had enough layers on. Today’s time with the distance: 6.53 min for 0.5 mile. 13.51 min for 1 mile. 21.02 min for 1.5 miles. 28.18 min for 2 miles. 30 min for 2.11 miles.

The second run of the week didn’t really go as plan of how I wanted my 25 minute run to go and I wanted to get it done before the weather turned south. Towards end the run I came across a situation, which I don’t want to go into details, that ended my run short by several minutes. Today’s time with the distance: 7:19 min for 0.5 mile. 14.22 min for 1 mile. 21.15 minute for 1.41 mile.

Long Run Day! I ended up utilizing my parents treadmill for this run. Treadmill run stats: I started out at 3.5 mph. 7.55 min for 0.5 mile. 15.50 min for 1 mile. 24 min for 1.5 miles. 29.50 min for 2 miles. 38.59 min for 2.5 miles. I ended with running my last half mile at 4.5, 46.07 min for 3 mile.

Stats for this week: Total of miles: 6.52. Total of time: 1hr 37.22 minutes. Average times: 0.5 miles – 7.09 minutes. 1 mile – 14.41 min. 1.5 miles – 22.51 min. 2 miles – 24.04 minutes.

Week 2: this morning I didn’t really want to get up and get going for the day and for a run but I did and I got the run in even though I needed to walk at parts because of the slip and slides patches. It’s also sad to say that my heart wasn’t really into the run either. Today’s time with the distance: 7:50 min for 0.5 mile. 14.50 min for 1 mile. 22.59 min for 1.5 miles. 30 min for 1.94 miles.

Sad to say that this morning it was harder to get up and going then the pass couple of days but proud that I got up and got my run in, and happy that 2 miles in before my 30 minutes was up. Today’s time with the distance: 7.26 min for 0.5 mile. 14.30 min for 1 mile. 21.45 min for 1.5 miles. 28.30 min for 2 miles. 30 min for 2.10 miles.

Long Run Day! Oi I should have done this run before doing overtime hours at work. Today’s time with the distance: 7 min for 0.5 mile. 14.27 min for 1 mile. 22.10 min for 1.5 miles. 29.45 min for 2 miles. 37.30 min for 2.5 miles. 44.42 min for 3 miles. 52.12 min 3.5 miles. 59.18 min for 4 mile.

Stats for this week: Total of miles: 8.04. Total of time: 1hr 59.18 minutes. Average times: 0.5 miles – 7.38 minutes. 1 mile – 14.36 min. 1.5 miles – 22.03 min. 2 miles – 30.12 minutes.
