Im coming home. I’m done with the trail. Ever since Uncle Johnny’s in Erwin, it’s been down hill. I just want the creature comforts of sleeping in a bed, taking a shower more than once in 5-7 days. I miss home and my man terribly. And I’m tired of waiting till I get home to plan my wedding. Home cooked meals as well.
It’s work to hike the AT: the logistics, food/resupply, how far is to the next town and if I have enough food, reserving a room while on the trail with not the best cell service or reliable, finding water and filtering water, setting up and taking camp down day in and day out, hanging your food bag at night with little to no tree branches to hang it on. And digging cat holes to take a dump in, peeing on a steep mountain side, being g at the mercy of mother nature.
Also another factor of me coming home is that I have no motivation to go walk to the next spot or even to make big miles in knowing that I won’t be able to make it to Katahdin before Baxter State closes it before winter in mid-October.
For those who have been following me on my crazy hike along the AT. Thanks for the support and prayers from back home, where ever that may be.
