Pre – Trail Update #2
The first update is in the Welcome Blog.
Inspite of waiting till the last minute to start dehydrating food for the trip. I’m going to miss my family, my man, friends more than I know. Especially my man and Mama’s cooking.
Just starting to dehydrating this past week and realized that I should have started figuring this all out and started to dehydrating food back in October/November to give me 4/5 months to dehydrate food for the trail than two months before the trail. Eek. But all in all with a week of work I was able to dehydrate a good start of food with testing the drying times on food that I want to bring on the trail. Feeling little more comfortable with that and little stressed that I won’t be able to get all done, if I don’t get everything done before I leave it’s ok and I did what I can.
When testing my tent, sleeping pad, and my quilt in mid 20’s for the low with the wind making it feel closer to the upper teens. Sad to say I didn’t last the whole night and came in and slept on the couch. Now need to find a quilt liner for my coustom made quilt. And test out my sleeping pad again.
10 mile hike to weight train for the Appalachian Trail and man I still feel it in my right calf. Taking it easy and massaging it with a back massager, hurts having it work it but better than taking pain killers and over doing it.
